Aquabox - planned for BRE Innovation Park

Vision Event, London 2-3 June 2015 – Amphibious And Flood-Resilient Homes Workshop

Baca and Aquobex have developed plans for a prototype/demonstration building to showcase flood resistant construction at the BRE Innovation park in Watford. Due for construction towards the end of next year it will provide regular live demonstrations of systems to tackle flooding and it will be publicly accessible.

We anticipate that many councils, businesses and concerned individuals will be interested as well as international representatives from cities and nations that have suffered from flooding.

Three flood levels will be created on the outside of the building to showcase different technological responses.

he first floor will contain an office and meeting room set over a glass floor that overlooks the flood-able kitchen. The kitchen is designed to withstand flood water and to be drained ready for reuse. A long glass tank will be used to demonstrate the water resistance of different materials.
