A long section through the site shows how floodwater is allowed into the site in a predetermined manner. During a 1 in 1000 year flood the amphibious and floating homes both raise with the water and the dryproof homes resist it. The ‘water garden courtyards’ are allowed to flood, reducing flooding to other parts of the town. Dry access is maintained to all properties.
