A new high quality detached house is proposed in Oxfordshire. The dwelling is located within a well-established landscape and adjacent to a small stream.

The proposed design seeks to deliver a well proportioned house, with pitched roofs to complement the irregular roof line of many of the properties in the village. The dwelling will be quite formal and solid to the street elevation with larger glazed windows addressing a south facing courtyard.

The building will be a low energy construction and seeks to achieve a minimum of Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3. The dwelling will be of pre-fabricated construction and elevated on mini-piles. A woodburning stove with back boiler will be provide background heating to this highly insulated home.

The design has been carefully considered to provide a home fit for the challenges of the 21st Century whilst integrating with its surrounding picturesque site.
